Surface Pen Keeps Disconnecting. I'm on a Surface Pro 3, and this issue has been going on for at least 6 months. The only way to resolve the issue is for me to pull the battery out of the pen and put it back in. After I do that, it will work for 5-10 minutes more (maybe) then cut out again. Trouble Shooting. 3. Switching my old laptop to local account. (I was thinking that one Microsoft account in two computers might having a conflict. On going windows update in the old laptop might change the settings in my book flex affecting drivers for touch screen and s pen. .
